I attended CCM for 4 years to earn my B.F.A. Throughout my time there I took a number of courses on sound design and technology, as well as basic courses in other fields of theatre design and production, music, and more. The classes were very fun and educational, but my favorite part was the show work. Each year, we would have 2-4 show assignments, starting off as mic crew or A2 freshman year, and each year working your way to mixing, being production sound engineer, and designing. I got to work on all kinds of shows such as dance, opera, lighting shows, play, musicals, and even a haunted house(!), across all 3 of the venues at CCM. On each show, we would go through a full prep, tech, load-in, and strike process, all student-led. Some of my favorite things I did while there were mixing Pippin, assistant designing Blue Stockings, designing Boom, and designing Cinderella.
